Synopsis

The first in New York Times bestselling author Michael Grant's breathtaking dystopian sci-fi saga, Gone is a page-turning thriller that invokes the classic The Lord of the Flies along with the horror of Stephen King.

In the blink of an eye, everyone disappears. Gone. Except for the young. There are teens, but not one single adult. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened. Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents—unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers—that grow stronger by the day. It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen, a fight is shaping up. Townies against rich kids. Bullies against the weak. Powerful against powerless. And time is running out: on your birthday, you disappear just like everyone else. . . .

Michael Grant's Gone has been praised for its compelling storytelling, multidimensional characters, and multiple points of view.

I actually read this a few years ago but re-read it when the newest books in the series are released. This is one of the best YA series out there and the first book went a very long way to set the tone for the whole series. One part dystopia, one part superhero/villians origin story.

I really liked it. It was like Lord of the flies meets the crystalids. I wasn't expecting a lot of the things that happened and I am really excited to see what happens next.

This book is brilliant, This is a brilliant start to the gone series.I love this book. This book is mostly about when the people aged 15 and over disappeared. The main characters are, from my opinion, Sam, Astrid, Caine, Dianna, Lana, Quinn, Albert and the Gaiaphage.Sorry if I just spoiled some of the story for some of you guys out there. But i didn't say much o i probably didn't. I hope you will read Gone and the sequels to Gone: 1. Hunger, 2. Lies, 3. Plague, 4. Fear and hopefully not the last yet, 5. Light.

I am 33 yo. But this book, and series is great. I read hunger first I picked it up for a dollar at BMV. And I basically could not put it down. So now I'm starting at the beginning and going to read them all. Except hunger of course.

I had to read this book for an assignment for the Summer before 8th grade, and most people don't look forward to assignments because I have to read Gone and Hunger. But I think that Gone is the best book I have ever had.

Wasn't sure what to expect. It's well written and even though I'm 38, I still enjoyed it very much. Can't wait for the next one. If you like sci-fi, supernatural, alien stuff, you might like this series.
