Typical john d Macdonald book
December 12th, 2013
Could easily have been a Travis Magee novel. Not because of the characters but the form and substance of the story. lots of "colorful " descriptions as the story approaches conclusion.

John D. MacDonald at his best!
January 1st, 2013
I have been reading John D. MacDonald's books since the late 60's when my mother introduced me to the Travis McGee series of books. He is one of the authors that made me want to read and I continue to do so to this day. I have well over 1500 books and after reading this book all in one session from midnight to 9:31am, I remember how enjoyable it is to read one of his books. I remember being very sad when I learned of his passing as I not only realized that we lost one of the 20th Century's best authors, but that we would not be captivated by his story telling anymore. Where he got the ideas for all the different books, I just don't know. What I do know is that the books that I do have and have read many times over have allowed me to to go places in the stories he has told and get hooked on his characters in ways I have never done in other books. I have all of the Travis McGee books, and now that they are all coming out in ePub format in January 2013, I will once again lose myself in one of the best series of books that I have ever read. R.I.P. John D. MacDonald, you are gone but will never be forgotten due to the wonderful stories you have left behind for us to read!
