Synopsis

Jeffrey Archer's mesmerizing saga of the Clifton and Barrington families continues...

1945, London. The vote in the House of Lords as to who should inherit the Barrington family fortune has ended in a tie. The Lord Chancellor's deciding vote will cast a long shadow on the lives of Harry Clifton and Giles Barrington. Harry returns to America to promote his latest novel, while his beloved Emma goes in search of the little girl who was found abandoned in her father's office on the night he was killed. When the general election is called, Giles Barrington has to defend his seat in the House of Commons and is horrified to discover who the Conservatives select to stand against him. But it is Sebastian Clifton, Harry and Emma's son, who ultimately influences his uncle's fate.

In 1957, Sebastian wins a scholarship to Cambridge, and a new generation of the Clifton family marches onto the page. But after Sebastian is expelled from school, he unwittingly becomes caught up in an international art fraud involving a Rodin statue that is worth far more than the sum it raises at auction. Does he become a millionaire? Does he go to Cambridge? Is his life in danger? Best Kept Secret, the third volume in Jeffrey Archer's bestselling series, will answer all these questions but, once again, pose so many more.

Loved the book but hated that it ended where it did. I hope the next installment is in the works - I can't wait two years to find out what happens next!!!! Archer is a captivating writer and I thoroughly enjoy EVERYTHING he writes.

Even more exciting and unexpected twists and turns for the Clifton family. Wonderland throwback of how day to day life was affected by modern advances in travel & communications. Mix in family intrigue, lies, politics, and honest family values.....fun read.

Again a fantastic continuation to a previous novel but the first time I have been left without knowing when I will get more and if Mr archer does not release the next in this family of novels I will have to track him down and force him to write

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Loved, loved, loved the first two books. Couldn't wait for the third! But unfortunately I was quite disappointed. As much as I adore Jeffrey Archer's work, the story veered off in so many ways that it was no longer about the Clifton's and the Barringtons. And the ending????? All I can say is I sure hope there's a fourth book in the works.

Good read, but unsatisfying
December 27th, 2013
Unsatisfying ending. Not pleased. I understand it is supposed to be a cliffhanger, leading to the next book, but since the next book is unlikely to be completed before I have largely forgotten this one, I feel cheated. I had enjoyed the other books in this series, but this one is just a bridge to the next, and little else.

Not bad, not great either. If there is another in this series as the last few pages would suggest I won't be in any rush to further pad Mr Archers pockets!

Just loved the trilogy. Is there going to be a fourth book because this story is far from finished. Jeffery Archer does leave cliff hangers.
